Job Summary
This leadership role is crucial for maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy and enhancing inventory management processes and systems. The Inventory Management Manager will lead efforts in inventory reconciliation, process improvement, system enhancements, and team coordination to achieve and exceed inventory accuracy targets. This position requires a strategic approach to problem-solving, an ability to work cross-functionally with various departments, and leadership in project management and process optimization.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Lead Inventory Accuracy Initiatives: Ensure inventory accuracy of 99%+ between the company ERP system and 3PL WMS through strategic oversight and enhancement of inventory processes.
- Inventory Issue Resolution Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for all inventory issues, leading the resolution process involving IT, inventory movements, or adjustments and ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Inventory Accuracy Monitoring: Oversee semi-annual physical inventory counts and monthly cycle counts to ensure ongoing accuracy between system and physical inventory.
- Strategic Reporting and Analysis: Lead the preparation and presentation of bi-annual inventory physical counts to management, including analysis of variances, root causes, and strategic corrective actions.
- Sub-Inventory Management: Oversee sub-inventory status, ensuring effective management, clean-up, and optimization of inventory levels through liquidation, insurance claims, or scrapping as necessary.
- Chargeback Reduction Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to monitor, investigate, and reduce chargebacks related to warehouse shortages and customer compliance charges.
- Non-Sellable/Aging Inventory Strategy: Lead quarterly planning for non-sellable/aged inventory liquidation, coordinating with product managers and directors for approval and strategic direction.
- Process and System Enhancements: Proactively identify, develop, and implement improvements in inventory management processes and systems to increase accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
- Ad Hoc Projects and Strategic Initiatives: Lead and manage ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives as required, demonstrating advanced project management skills and strategic thinking.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 7-years of experience in distribution/logistics with a focus on inventory management.
- Proven experience in managing 3rd party warehouses and leading process improvement projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.
- Willingness to travel to warehouses as needed.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
