Position Overview:
Responsible for overseeing all tax-related decisions and activities in the organization. Keep the company in compliance with existing and new tax laws.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Build a deep understanding of the business and its transaction flows to analyze potential tax implications and impacts.
- Tax examination management including IRS, state income, and other taxes (sales tax, employment} including coordination of technical support for tax positions.
- Manage special projects as assigned, including, but not limited to participation in the optimizing the ownership structure, transfer pricing planning, tax incentive utilization and other special projects.
- Prepare and review of work papers to support tax return positions, including book/tax differences, R&D, and other credit computations and multi-state apportionment.
- Coordinate federal, state, and local income tax return fillings and estimate for all US entities, including related tax planning.
- Research tax issues and prepare tax memoranda as needed.
- Build/Adjust tax strategy for home appliance Midea business.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years' professional tax experience
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Public Accounting/Big 4/large corporation is a plus.
- Strong tax operations knowledge and familiarity of tax issues for a multination company operating globally.
- Results driven with high level of initiative, teamwork, urgency, accountability and integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft excel, word, ERP and some tax research tools
- May have to be in warehouse environment, may need to lift less than 50 pounds
- Occasional International Travel (<15% of time), frequent Domestic travel (<25% of time
