- Be the agency expert in the category – including certification data & procedures, testing, standards, compliance, Dept. of Energy & Energy Star testing and standards, etc.
- Participate in AHAM committees as an active, voting member representing the overall product strategy and product division alignment.
- Assist product planning with expertise in regulatory federal and state laws. Understanding the differences between various state and federal requirements, and train and coach design teams in both US and in China to understand and assist in delivering compliant products into the US.
- Manage all third-party agency audit testing for laundry products.
- Manage the overall product compliance aspect– including being the expert related to applicable UL & CSA safety standards and requirements.
- Assist other engineers with design-related issues & problem solving.
- Assist new product field tests – assisting with safety & compliance requirements, planning, and overall execution.
- Review product literature, packaging, rating labels, etc. for product compliance and ensuring products meet various agency requirements
- Assist product team with competitive analysis/teardowns and market research to gain insights, ensuring product plan and overall strategy is updated per the market trends.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, master’s degree preferred.
- Preferably being an existing/former AHAM, ASHRAE and AHRI member familiar with the products (Appliances Category or other durable goods), procedures, and standards – experience with working committees preferred.
- Detailed component and system design experience with product categories.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of working experience in the related field.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Laundry product experience preferred, but not required.
- Occasional International Travel (<15% of time), frequent Domestic travel (<25% of time)
