Title: Product Marketing Manager

Job Summary
As a Product Marketing Manager, you will take the lead in managing the product roadmap, development process, and product lifecycle for one or more of our Product Divisions (PDs). This vital role aims to ensure the success of our product lineup in the Canadian market by meeting growth and profitability targets. Collaborating closely with international cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, sales, and marketing, you will launch products that meet and exceed the expectations of our retail partners and customers.

Responsibilities

Industry Expertise & Knowledge

•    Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to understand customer needs and industry trends, ensuring our products are aligned with market demands.
•    Perform frequent competitive analysis to stay ahead of market trends and discover new opportunities, keeping our product lineup competitive and innovative.
•    Develop, manage and execute multi-year product roadmaps that align with our strategic goals, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define product designs, features, and user experiences.
•    Leverage relationships with overseas product planning and portfolio management team members to maximize opportunities in the Canadian market.
•    Continuously gather and incorporate feedback from key stakeholders, including customers and retail partners, to enhance our product offerings and positioning.
•    Benchmark competitors, their line logic and innovations, to ensure our products remain relevant and competitive.


New Product Introduction Process

•    Leverage North America Research Centre, and PD design teams to find suitable platforms and products to be developed for Canada.
•    Define product requirements, specifications, and lineups based on insights and market intelligence, ensuring our offer meets the needs of our market.
•    Lead the launch process for new products in Canada (NPI), from conception to market introduction, ensuring a seamless process, leveraging the Sales Operations Analyst to carry out the process until the SKU is ready to place a production order to the factory.
•    Craft and execute compelling go-to-market strategies that include competitive retail pricing, brand positioning, and promotional planning, positioning our new SKUs for success.
•    Issue sell-in pricing for all retail partners and develop a value chain template (VC) that aligns with our profitability expectations.
•    Negotiate and confirm Transfer Pricing (TP) with overseas counterparts, ensuring our value chains meet profitability targets.
•    Provide our sales team with detailed product pages that highlight main features, characteristics, and specs, so they can easily communicate the value of new SKUs to customers.


Business Management

The Product Manager is person in our Canadian Business Unit that knows the most about the Product Category and is ultimately in charge of the P&L. 

For existing business:
•     Monitor, analyze, and strategically influence key product performance metrics, including net sales revenue, profitability (PBT), SKU productivity, strategic category sales, and aged inventory, delivering expected KPI results.
•    Actively participate in weekly CPFR sessions and the monthly forecast process, taking ownership of the numbers committed each month.
•    Proactively plan and manage promotional activities, necessary funding from PDs is available.
•    Define and execute a channel management strategy in collaboration with stakeholders, leveraging MAP policy or exclusive SKUs to avoid conflicts.
•    Mobilize marketing and other functional departments to drive sell-out and sell-in. Helping secure resources and funds.

For new business:
•    Lead the scoping and securing of new business with both existing and new channel partners.
•    Collaborate with the Sales team to understand opportunities and build business case with Value Chains for new products and listings.
•    Actively lead the product component of Product Line Reviews (PLRs), selecting products for presentation, determining the logic of their fit. Define sell-in quotes, and suggested retail price points.
•    Lead the CCC and budgeting planning cycle for our Canadian Business Unit, ensuring financial and strategic alignment.
•    Drive the 3-year product roadmap and ambition to accomplish our strategic product growth targets.


Requirements
•    Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
•    5+ years of experience in consumer goods product management, marketing or sales, preferably in the appliance industry.
•    Strong project management skills with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Experience with product development processes.
•    In-depth knowledge of the Canadian appliance market.
•    Good understanding of regulatory requirements.
•    Experience developing and executing brans and go-to-market strategies, pricing, positioning and promotional planning.
•    Experience having full P&L responsibility.
•    Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
